The first ever Swazi producers collaboration album, entitled “Producers Party – Dec ’08, is coming out in December 2008. It shall feature 14 Swazi producers contributing one song each. There will also be a 15th bonus track, produced by DD Cool, which still needs lyrics and a vocalist, which will come out on his next CD. Using this instrumental Swazi’s are invited to come up with lyrics and sing and the winner will feature on DD Cool’s third album set for release in April 2009. Contestants will be required to produce an original Producers Party to compete.
The Producers Party CD shall retail at E30 only and shall be available from the 1st of December from all 14 producers including the executive producer DD Cool, Sdeez SuperMix and Mgavuza in Mbabane.
Swazi producers are on the rise and are ready to show Swaziland and the rest of the World what they are capable of. In the past years we have taken great strides. Mil-G, now based in the US, is still hoisting the flag high and MAZ in Joburg even has a remix featuring Jahseed on his second self-produced album for the hit hip-hop tracker “Mrapper sani!”. We have had local producers licencing their material most notably Simza & Sabside for their hit track “Mine bengdzakiwe” which is on DJ Cndo’s first project “First lady of House” and DJ Sdunkero’s “Edladleni Vol 1” in 2007.
In 2008 Peace and Foster licenced out their yet unreleased hit track “Foma” on DJ Cndo’s “Vol 2”. Also in 2008 DD Cool became the first Swazi producer to release two albums with his “2000 & GR8” CD. He also became the first Swazi producer to have two music video’s; “That’s very good” from his first CD and “May’babo!” from his second. Mozaik has most notably been behind Tiyas’ R’n’B album and the Siyinqaba Mixtape which is a hip hop gem. Trash Bin has produced hip hop tracks, most notably with C4. Slim-Q is the producer behind the highly popular Stealth Independence. Talicca Reez is the producer behind KrystoDrym Studios, the only recording studio in Mbabane. His most recent projects include ‘Young and Fresh” a hip-hop duo from Waterford and “Chacharacha”, an incredible kwaito group.
Mixmash is best known for his immense contribution on the “Swazi Pride Vol1” which boasted of the hit “Viva laVida”. He also has a hit track “Together” on DD Cool’s “2000 & GR8” CD. Stax is a graduate of Sound of Sounds, South Africa’s elitesound engineering school. Sgubhu DJ Deenox is currently on holiday after finishing his first year studies also at “Sound of Sounds” in Joburg. JP also has a sound engineering qualification obtained in Australia. Kay – Y and Silver Bullet are both DJ / Producers based in Manzini with full albums. +268 are 3 DJ /Producers who completed their education from SCOT early this year. They have produced numerous tracks, the most notable one on DD Cool’s “2000 & GR8” CD, “Makhundu”. Lady DJ Cream is the first lady of Sgubhu and is currently based in Midrand SA where she is taking the DJ scene by storm. Jomino is the younger sibling to the family of DJ’s, that is X-tacy, Waar Waars and Phat-so.
There will be a special preview of the album by Lindz on “Swazi Rhythm on Tuesday 2 December from5-6pm on SBIS 2.
